How to become an online professor, teaching credited courses via the internet?

MissDeviance asked:

Asking for my husband, who is 44, has a B.S. in Computer Science, and 25+ years work experience as a programmer including corp experience with IBM, Peachtree Software, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and other consulting companies. He has also taught credited college classes as a adjunct professor.

He would like to teach credited college-level computer science or I/T classes remotely via the internet. But where would he find such teaching opportunities? He’s got great recommendations from the adjunct professorship and he’s a talented teacher. He even published training books.

With just a B.S. degree, he knows he’d be limited to 2-year or technical colleges, but with more of them now providing online classes, how does he get to be one of those teachers?

We’re located in North Georgia. He already has virtual meeting equipment from his other work (as a remotely based work-from-home software consultant for 15+ years).

  1. internet consulting

ITT and other technical colleges usually have some classes offered online. Start with their websites. They usually have links about employment. However, keep in mind that most colleges (even tech schools) require a master’s level degree in the field.
